Works as expected

The initial quality is good, or at least sufficient. Time will tell how it will hold up. I'm using this to store a variety of round rubber rings instead of a CD player, and it's a huge improvement over the zip-lock bags I was using previously.

Tough Outer Shell with Mesh Pouch Inside

Perfect fit for my CD player that I have. The outer shell offers some shockproof protection, and the inside has an open style pouch for some earbuds, power cord or some CDs. No real complaints here. I personally don't care for the loop on the outside but that can easily be cut off. Simple yet effective.

Protective Case For Portable CD Player

This case is made of a plasticized material that is waterproof and looks like it would provide good shock protection against drops. It is a good fit for my portable CD player. It has a zipper closure and a storage pocket in the interior of the lid. It also has a handy wrist strap. It would also work well for storage of other similarly-sized products, such as ear buds or CDs. I have been unable to find any problems or disadvantages with this case.

Functional, but room for improvement

I initially thought thought this was a CD case, until I realized it was paired with the HOTT Bluetooth CD player. It has a smooth outside and a slightly felted lining, with fabric around circumference of inside lining. The unfinished edge where it overlaps near hinge is coming up, so I might trim that.

As far as protecting your CD player, this is a really hard shell. You really have to squeeze (even when it's empty) to get it to bend, but I still wouldn't want to sit on it, step on it, put it under something heavy, or drop something on it. It's also not padded with any sort of foam or shock absorbing padding for drops. Still, it should protect its contents from most things (scratches, spills, etc.)

It has a lightweight metal zipper. Hopefully that won't break. It zips pretty well, but sometimes it catches a little if the top and bottom are not lined up side to side.

Aesthetically, it has a plain design, with a black wrist strap, and is all black except for the red and white HOTT logo on top. It's not especially cool-looking—more utilitarian in design. If I'm being picky, the logo on mine is off-center. The wrist strap is a nice touch, but it's made of a creased grosgrain ribbon, and nothing special. Still, it seems well-attached and sturdy.

Inside are just two compartments: the main area and an elastic mesh pouch. The case opens about 340°, and it has a floppy hinge, so you'll need to open it on a flat surface or be prepared so things don't fall out. The elastic keeps the earbuds in the pouch, even upside down, but the player would fall out.

The storage pouch is good in theory, but not so much in reality. I put the three cords that came with the HOTT brand Bluetooth portable CD player in the pouch, and they barely fit. It's too thick, even with just the earbuds arranged as flat as they can be, to close easily. Still, if you stuff the cords in there, it will zip shut. It's not super difficult to close, but I'm concerned about the buttons on device being squished and the earbuds being mashed.
